Natural disasters and health crises leave lasting scars on vulnerable communities. Through Perider, EEGA Trust’s Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation program, we respond swiftly and compassionately — restoring dignity, rebuilding homes, and reviving hopes.

Our Humanitarian Interventions :

Since 2016, EEGA Trust has played a vital role in helping communities recover from major crises — notably Cyclone Gaja in 2018 and the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2022.

We focus on emergency relief, long-term rehabilitation, and resilience-building, with special attention to women, children, the elderly, and the marginalized poor communities.

Highlights of Perider Initiatives :

Cyclone Gaja Response (2018)

  • Emergency support to 848 families with food, solar lamps, mats, clothing, hygiene kits,
    and household supplies.
  • Housing assistance to 12 vulnerable women.
  • Distributed 12 livestock to 12 women from marginalised communities
  • Water scarcity relief in 14 rural hamlets through infrastructure support.

    Educational Rehabilitation

  • Distributed school supplies worth ₹5 lakhs to disaster-affected children, supporting their
    return to education.

    • Health and Mental Wellbeing

  • Organized camps for physical and mental health care, focusing on trauma recovery for
    women and children.

    • COVID-19 Response (2020–2022)

    •  Reached 2,690 families with emergency food and hygiene kits during lockdowns. 
    • Promoted vaccination awareness, safe practices, and mental health support.
    •  Supported widowed women, elderly, and mentally ill individuals with food, counseling, and essential care.
    • Assisted students with online education and remote learning tools.
    •  Helped restore homes for COVID-affected families.
