A Haven of Dignity: Compassionate Aged Care at Kaithadi.
Old age is often accompanied by loneliness and neglect, making it one of the most challenging phases of life. Understanding this reality, EEGA Trust established Kaithadi Old Age Home in Vedaranyam, Nagapattinam District, in 2021 to provide a safe, caring, and dignified environment for elders who have no one to support them. Currently, the home shelters 15 elders, offering them three nutritious meals a day, regular medical check-ups, and essential care to ensure their well-being.

A Safe Haven for the Elderly
Kaithadi Old Age Home provides shelter and care for elders who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- aged 60 and above
- Abandoned by their children
- Destitute and homeless aged people
- Socially marginalized individuals
- Aged without children
- Unmarried Age People
These who have faced hardships and societal neglect, now find a secure and loving home where their needs are met with compassion and respect.
Comprehensive Care and Services
The residents of Kaithadi Old Age Home receive a holistic support system that addresses their physical, emotional, and social well-being. Key services provided include:
Nutritious Meals: Three well-balanced meals and tea are provided daily.
Healthcare & Medical Support: Regular health check-ups, sugar level tests, and medications are administered.
Emergency Medical Care: When required, residents are taken to hospitals for specialized treatments.
Recreational & Social Activities:
Access to television, indoor entertainment, and other leisure activities to keep them engaged.
Festival Celebrations: Events like Elders’ Day, Pongal, and other cultural festivities bring joy and a sense of belonging.
Community Participation: Residents are encouraged to share their opinions and suggestions in quarterly feedback meetings, ensuring they have a voice in their own care.
Lifetime Care & Last Rites: The eldes are looked after until their final days, and dignified last rites are conducted with due respect.
