Igniting Futures: Empowering Through Education with Suvadi

Nagapattinam district, is home to economically and educationally marginalize communities. Livelihoods in this area primarily depend on agriculture, salt production, and fishing, leaving youth with limited access to quality education and employability opportunities. For many, the dream of securing stable government jobs remains unattainable due to inadequate resources, lack of proper guidance, and financial barriers.

Recognizing these challenges, EEGA Trust launched Suvadi Competitive Exam Free Learning Centre in May  2024. The center offers:

  • Regular and Weekend Classes: Conducted by experienced instructors, including serving government employees, to provide quality training for competitive exams.
  • Support Services: Free food, accommodation, and study materials are provided to all participants to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Inclusive Participation: Special focus on enrolling youth from economically disadvantaged and socially marginalized communities, including women and first-generation learners.

Currently, 130 plus rural youth are benefitting from this program, which has become a stepping stone to brighter career opportunities.

Activity Goals:

  • Increase access to quality competitive exam coaching: Provide free and accessible coaching for government exams (e.g., State and Central Govt. job competitive exams, civil services, banking, teaching).
  • Improve employability: Equip youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully compete in government recruitment processes.

Organizing Career Counseling and Guidance Sessions: Provide information on various government job opportunities and career pathways.

Conducting Comprehensive Coaching Classes: Provide regular classes taught by experienced and qualified instructors, including current government employees.

Providing Food and Accommodation: Offer subsidized or free food and accommodation facilities to support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Developing Study Materials: Provide access to relevant study materials, books, and online resources.

Conducting Mock Tests and Assessments: Regularly assess student progress and provide personalized guidance and support.
